Does the Honda Civic have air conditioning as a standard feature?

Does the Honda Civic have air conditioning as a standard feature?

So I'm getting a new car and I want a 2009 Honda Civic. The only thing is I live in Louisiana and it is really hot. I'm not seeing the honda civic with air conditioning as a standard feature, although I see the next model up with a standard air conditioning.

Can anyone clarify this?
Does anyone have the 2009 Civic and can give any opinions on it?

Look on the sticker. If it doesn't say anything about air conditioning, it doesn't have it. Don't assume anything!
Bubba B

Yes, it does come with it. Go to edmunds.com and look for this car and look at the standard features. Different models have different standard features.

a/c isn't a standard feature on a lot of cars still.. the civics can still be bought stripped down, no a/c, no radio!, no passenger side mirror, etc.. usually that's reserved for fleet sales.

Honda Trim Level 101:

DX = The base DX model is equipped with LATCH, immobilizer theft-deterrent system, power windows, daytime running lights (DRL), 15-inch wheels with covers, driver's seat height adjustment, and other features. American DX models do not have a standard audio system.

DX-VP = The DX-VP (Value Package) sold in the United States adds air conditioning and the 160 watt 4-speaker AM/FM/MP3 stereo system with CD player.

LX = The LX model adds a 160 watt 4-speaker AM/FM/MP3 stereo system with CD player, 16-inch wheels with covers, cruise control, MP3/audio jack, passenger-side walk-in with memory (coupe only), floor mats, and an anti-theft security system with remote entry.

LX-S = Since 2009, the LX-S (sport) for the US market adds 16-inch alloy wheels, lip spoiler, steering-wheel audio controls, and black sport upholstery with silver stitching.

EX = The EX model adds a power moonroof, 4-wheel disc brakes, 16-inch alloy wheels, an additional 12-volt accessory outlet, a 350 watt stereo system with six speakers (coupe only, the sedan EX comes with a 160 watt stereo system), exterior temperature indicator, a foldable rear arm rest with integrated cupholders (sedan only), and an optional voice-activated navigation system.

EX-L = The EX-L model adds a leather interior with heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, leather wrapped steering wheel, and a center console.

not standard /option

When you look at the Civic starting at the DX trim level it will not have the A/C or Radio. It is optional but will cost more than moving to the LX trim level.

If you start at the DX-VP it will have both A/C and radio standard.

lx & ex models have a/c from the factory,dx models you can get with out a/c. honda tech 12yrs.

What should I do? My 1997 Honda Civic was "totaled", a lady hit my husband.?

The insurance company will give us $4600 to total it or $3600 to salvage and keep the car since there is only cosmetic damage and the car is drive able with 120,000 miles. What should I do?

I would take the $4,600 and buy another car. That Honda is not worth $4,600 at the current market price.
URI (from Canada)

based on the amount they are offering, it takes 1000 dollar to fix the damages.
i would take the 3600 ,fix the car and drive it.
or sell it for at least 2000 or 2500.

off course if you can fix the damage with only 1000, if not just take the 4600 and save the headache.
quickappraisal

I would take the 3600 and keep the car. Even if you don't want to fix the car. You could always part it out and get the extra 1000 and still have some parts to sell for extra cash. There is always some tuner out there looking for parts. The engine and tranny is worth 1000 alone not to say the other parts you might have.
That1guy

Drive it. You won't find the same car for that price. Plus Honda's last much longer than 120k miles.
kev

$3600 to salvage it. Do this in case you cannot afford a new car. Additionally, sue whoever damaged your car, unless it was an accident.

i'd say rims (not sure what kind), tints, lowering springs/coilovers, and a front splitter.
nas_cxt

rims tint and maybe a body kit
Keanen J

New rims
tinted windows
looks like the honda badge was painted or custom
grill looks aftermarket
calipers are painted don't know if that is stock or not
maybe a body kit im not a honda expert.
Seriously though
just get some twin turbos on it make it a zippy car
TSNE

Everything that the others mentioned plus vent shades on the windows.
TaylorJ

He has:

1. HPF Si lip kit. I have linked you a spot where you can pick it up and actually the car that you posted is missing the door pieces
2. Those are BBS wheels, cant remember the model from top of my head
3. OEM Honda window visors
4. Aftermarket headlight lids
5. His car looks lowered
6. He also has JDM Civic Si red front emblem. To find it just search "civic 08 emblem" on ebay and there are tons of them.

2002 Honda Civic for $5,700?

this guy is selling his 2002 honda civic for $5,700. i would like to have him lower the price what is a good offer? is $4,000 dollars ok? it has 64K miles

Asked by: Kim @ 2009-07-05 15:11:15

soooooooooooooooooooo in 8 years its only loss 40% of its value or less the stove depending on equipment was about 12k or less/4k is more than enough
ken k

It depends on what type of a civic it is - sedan or coupe, LX, DX or EX, automatic or manual.

You can get an approximate value at different sites. kbb.com is one I used while buying a used car
VJ

$4000 is not a good offer $5700 is a huge deal. The basemodel version of that car is worth $7,000.

http://www.nadaguides.com/usedcars.aspx?LI=1-21-1-5013-0-0-0&l=1&w=21&p=1&f=5014&m=1195&d=588&y=2002&c=16&vi=49870&z=75028&da=-1&mi=64000

It is obvious that you only want to pay $4000 for a car. Please go to www.autotrader.com and set the limit at $4000 and see what is available in your area.
Kenny

well 5,700 is really good for a 2002 civic with that many miles so if i were you i would ask him to bring it down to 5000.. that would be awesome.

Just according what kindof' shape it's in!

What should I choose?

I can get a 1992 Honda Civic 4-Door DX for free, but the engine is blown out. How much would it cost to get a new engine and for it to be replaced?
Should i get this or a new car?

I'll have $6300 soon.

Good luck getting a new car with $6,300.

Just get the other car + buy a new engine.
emberfly

I would take the Honda, no matter what, because it's free. Take it to a reliable mechanic and get a complete diagnosis and find out if anything else is wrong with it.You'll know soon enough if it's going to be a reliable car for you. 6300.00 can get you a nice, reliable car.
Karry

when you get your $6300 look for a good used car, don't bother with that honda with the blown engine, 92 is to old.. god knows what else might be wrong with it after you put your hard earned money into it. shop around, when you decide take it to a mechanic b-4 u buy have him go over it with a fine tooth comb it may cost around 100 dollars but if the car is bad you still saved thousands. good luck
ceddie1987

I would not recommend buying a new car under any circumstances. Depreciation makes this a bad decision every time, not to mention the additional cost incurred through interest. That said, I would really look at the Honda as a viable option. This car was the staple of the import culture so there are a ton of OEM and aftermarket parts available for it. Additionally, a lot of Civic owners swapped their engines with JDM ones (from Japan) that were better performing. If you live in an area where you can find a shop that can handle the swap then I say go for it. You should still end up with enough money left over to buy a nice radio. If this seems like too much trouble, you should not have any trouble buying a nice used car for $6300. Again, I never suggest buying new.

what doe's the D3 and D4 on a 93 honda accord means and which is best to use when driving?

my gear shift has only D3 and D4 and i don't understand neither do i know which to use when and how.

Asked by: kevin a @ 2009-07-05 17:28:59

Answers ::
the d3 is better used while driving in town, the d4 is better used on the highway, basically the d4 is your overdrive, d3 means your car will only use 3 gears when d4 means it will use 4 gears put it in d4 on the highway and u will get better gas milage too.
mopar_man_69

this relates to the gears of the
transmissionn use d3 city and d4
highway
Andrew

use D4(overdrive)/D3 only in the city if ever
Mark C

D4 means all 4 gears have been selected on your transmission.
D3 means only the first 3 gears are selected and it will not shift to the 4th gear.
